μSRFlow: Streamlined muSR workflowμmuSRFlow: Streamlined μSR workflow

Since its first introduction, μSRFlow has grown into a more complete environment for fitting and analysing muSR spectra, both in your browser and on your desktop.

Built around musrfit, μSRFlow brings run selection, model building, fitting, and plotting into one interface. It handles the routine preparation of MSR files while keeping them accessible for users who want direct control.

Features include:

  • Single-run, independent-series, and global fits, with shared parameters where needed.
  • An editable parameter table that updates after fitting, ready for further adjustments.
  • An integrated MSR editor with syntax highlighting and synchronization of supported settings.
  • Spectrum and Fourier-transform plots, alongside parameter plots for exploring temperature, field, or energy dependence.
  • Shareable configuration links to restore analysis settings or exchange them with colleagues.
  • Command logs and generated files that keep the analysis steps visible.

The web edition requires no local software installation. Desktop packages support Linux and Windows, with Windows using a bundled ROOT and musrfit runtime through WSL2. The desktop application can also download missing run data from musruser.psi.ch after confirmation.

μSRFlow complements rather than replaces musrfit: the established tools still perform the calculations, while the interface makes the workflow easier to manage.

The current version is a release candidate, and feedback from everyday use is welcome, particularly on installation, fitting workflows, and usability.

Try μSRFlow in your browser and send feedback or bug reports to Zaher Salman.
